Lando Norris walked away from a terrifying 185mph accident in qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix. In torrential rain, the 21-year-old Briton lost control of his McLaren at the fearsome Eau Rouge corner, slamming the wall and sliding across the track as his car spun four-and-a-half times before coming to a halt. Only moments before the shunt, four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel had called on race director Michael Masi to suspend the session with rain intensifying as Q3 started, while Norris reported he was aquaplaning. When told of the smash, Vettel said: ‘What did I f***ing say? Vettel slowed his Aston Martin by the side of Norris’s wrecked chassis to inquire after the stricken driver.
