Norway’s Henrik Krogstad, the 2020 RX2 International Series Champion with the Yellow Squad team, thinks the switch to electric technology for FIA RX2e for 2021 has the potential to shift goalposts in terms of performance on track, and in attracting support for young drivers. He is set to race in the opening round of FIA RX2e season next year, in the electric car developed by Spanish electro-mobility specialist QEV Technologies, in partnership with Scandinavian rallycross heavyweight Olsbergs MSE, but is working on securing the budget to race in the full season. “The performance potential of electric rallycross cars is extraordinary, and that will open up all sorts of possibilities. As drivers, first and foremost, we want a fast car – and electric power has the capability to truly shift the goalposts in that respect. FIA RX2e will join the FIA World Rallycross Championship at six European events in 2021.
