John Hunter Nemechek will start from the pole in Friday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway. The top five is completed by Corey Heim, Christian Eckes and Nemechek’s teammate, Chandler Smith. Kansas is the first elimination race of the Truck Series playoffs, which began July 29 at Indianapolis Raceway Park before moving to Richmond Raceway on Aug. 13. “This is the cutoff race for us and I feel like we’re in a decent spot,” Nemechek told Fox Sports. But, getting the pole here should help us next week on picking pits for Bristol, which is the first race of the next round.
