The high-octane sport of SailGP has become known as Formula One on water and this week Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez found out why. ‘Like every sport when you see it from the outside it is so different when you actually jump into it. ‘The level of effort these guys do and the intensity, it has been a great experience. ‘It is certainly the pinnacle of sailing, these guys have great experience and the best drivers in the world. Slingsby’s Australia team currently lead the SailGP rankings after four of the 11 races this season but New Zealand have claimed victory in the last two races to close the gap.
