The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix may have been Daniel Ricciardo’s last Formula One race, as the Australian has now signed to rejoin Red Bull, albeit as a test and reserve driver, for 2023. So, I feel like I needed to try something else, so when I look back at that time and how I felt in 2018, I still stand by, I still think I did the right move. No, it didn’t, but I still feel I needed to answer that question of what could be and it has been answered, I’m totally OK with it. But I think the biggest thing for me is just getting some time to myself, I say work on myself but it’s like I need to go and do some self-discovery, it’s just having some free time, do some other things.
