IndyCar Pushes Barber Opener Back One Week

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – The start of the NTT IndyCar Series schedule is getting moved back another week, but this time it’s not because of COVID-19. The season-opening race at Barber Motorsports Park has been moved from April 11 to April 18 so that NBC can broadcast the event on network television. Because of some previous shuffling of the schedule that moved the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg from March 7 to April 25, the road course race at Barber Motorsports Park became the season opener. Rather than televise the race on NBCSN, NBC officials chose to move the event to network television instead.
