Huttunen inherits WRC 3 lead as Solberg falters

Jari Huttunen stole a last-minute WRC 3 lead as rival Oliver Solberg hit trouble on Saturday at Rally Italia Sardegna. However, he went off the road in his Skoda Fabia Rally2 on the final stage of the day, handing the lead back to Huttunen. The Pole claimed two stage victories and trailed Huttunen by a mere 10.5sec, providing the ingredients for a fierce final day battle. The Bolivian ended his day on a high with a stage win on the Tergu – Osilo 2 speed test. Frenchman Yohan Rossel retired his C3 in the opening stage of the day with steering issues after hitting a bank, whilst fellow countryman Eric Camilli crashed in the same test.
