How Lewis conquered the world: Hamilton has already won in a staggering 23 countries across the globe… so can he extend his record as Formula One returns to Portugal for the first time since 1996?

Hardly a Formula One weekend goes by now without Lewis Hamilton breaking or equalling some kind of record and this Sunday’s Portuguese Grand Prix could see one of the biggest of them topple. Hamilton currently has 23 countries he can count to having conquered with a winner’s trophy to show for it. Hamilton’s second win came in the USA where he also won in 2015 to clinch his third title. Hamilton has since won a further six times in front of his dedicated fans at Silverstone. Hamilton leads away the pack before winning the Singapore Grand Prix in 2018. Abu Dhabi has provided Hamilton with five wins, including in 2014 where he won the title. Hamilton celebrates winning in France in 2019 as he climbs down from his Mercedes. Hamilton has technically won 26 different races but his wins this year at the Styria, Tuscany and Eifel grands prix all came in countries he has already won at in Austria, Italy and Germany.
