Indianapolis – Rookies ruled in Friday’s second practice for the INDYCAR Grand Prix at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Colton Herta (Harding Steinbrenner Racing) and Felix Rosenqvist (Chip Ganassi Racing) were 1-2 in the 45-minute practice leading to NTT P1 Award knockout qualifying, which airs live on NBCSN and INDYCAR Pass at 4:30 p.m.
Herta was 15th in the morning practice, Rosenqvist was fourth.
In the second practice, Herta turned a lap of 1 minute, 8.0393 seconds (129.049 mph) with Rosenqvist running 1:08.2471 (128.656 mph).
Will Power led the day’s first practice session with a lap of 1:09.2890 seconds (126.721 mph) on the 14-turn, 2.439-mile permanent road course.
