Lexington, Ohio – NTT IndyCar Series rookie Colton Herta finished Friday with the fastest lap in Honda Indy 200 practice at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
Herta ran a lap of 1 minute, 5.7292 seconds in the No. 88 Harding Steinbrenner Racing Honda, leading a pair of Team Penske cars.
Five-time Honda Indy 200 race winner Scott Dixon – also a five-time NTT IndyCar Series champion – was 16th after having a spin in the second practice.
Former Ohio State football standout Bobby Carpenter, a former first-round NFL draft pick of the Dallas Cowboys, was named Grand Marshal of the Honda Indy 200 of Friday.
