Channel 10’s promotion of the Australian Grand Prix has already hit a speedbump, with TV chiefs forced to pull an ad ahead of the event. ‘For the first time, two Aussies go head to head at an Australian Grand Prix,’ the voiceover says. Yet F1 fans were quick to remind the broadcaster that Ricciardo has, in fact, faced another Australian at his home Grand prix. Ricciardo finished the race in ninth while Webber crossed the line just outside the podium positions in fourth. Ricciardo has had a difficult start to the new season, finishing 16th in Jeddah and 13th in Bahrain, while Sergio Perez – whose Red Bull seat Ricciardo is desperate to take off him – has secured back to back second place finishes. Simon Lazenby added: ‘It’s been a frustrating night for Danny Ricciardo.
