Formula One will condense its race weekends from four days into three for the 2022 season as part of a new look setup which will condense 23 races into its calendar. Drivers will now carry out their media duties on the Friday morning instead of Thursday, with practice taking place later on Friday. Saturday will remain qualifying day and Sunday will stay as the race day. Bahrain will also host the first race of the season the following weekend. Max Verstappen of Red Bull heads into the season as defending champion, wrestling the title off Lewis Hamilton in a dramatic final race of the season in Abu Dhabi in December.
