Formula E chose the historic home of motor racing to launch a ground-breaking car they hope will take the sport into a new era. ‘We are trying to build a sport which everyone talks about,’ Formula E CEO Jamie Reigle said. Reigle previously said the sport’s current Gen2 car is like ‘the iPhone 7 when the iPhone 14 is out’. He claims this car, which was two years in the making, is like the iPhone 15. He won’t drive the car for a few more months but Bird hopes it can help Formula E ride a wave like that which has propelled Formula One to new heights. Reigle added: ‘It looks like it belongs on the biggest stages but it does not also look like the typical race car.
