Formula 1 boss Ross Brawn says hydrogen could be future fuel

You just don’t get the same buzz from electric cars, he says. “Something I love about Formula 1 and the race cars we drive is the sound and feeling you get from them,” he says. Brawn says teams have reduced the numbers of people who travel to races by a third, down from about 3,000 people to 2,000. Replacing carbon-based fuels will be a huge challenge for Formula 1, Brawn acknowledges. But they also point out that the emissions from the engines of the racing cars is a tiny fraction of the sport’s total emissions. “At the end of the day, we’re a business,” says Brawn.
