Former Formula 1 team manager Peter Windsor has described Oscar Piastri’s move to McLaren as one of the ‘most astonishing decisions’ in the history of the sport, but insisted the Australian has all it takes to win a world title. ‘You’ve got to say Alpine is not doing a bad job, Mr Piastri,’ Windsor, a respected Formula 1 analyst, told his Twitch channel. A world champion in Formula 2 and Formula 3 in 2020 and 2021, Piastri has long been considered one of Formula 1’s rising stars. ‘Whether he’s made the right decision to go to McLaren, as I say, four years down the road will tell us, but right now you’d have to say Alpine is not a bad-looking team.
