Fifth pole in a row for DS Techeetah as Vergne denies da Costa

Jean-Eric Vergne pulled an astonishing lap out of the bag in Super Pole to seal the Julius Baer Pole Position ahead of the Berlin E-Prix Round 9, edging out team-mate Antonio Felix da Costa at the last by 0.140 seconds. “I needed to push in the second and third sectors and I pulled it off. The championship is won for Antonio, and we need to play a clever race. “I will definitely help him if I can and more importantly, help the team with the Teams’ Championship. The Mahindra Racing driver was just 0.033 seconds away from securing a spot in Super Pole with the German close by in eighth – relief for da Costa who progressed in sixth.
