For what Ferrari did was produce a bounceback season that deserves credit, finishing best of the rest behind the jostling duo of Red Bull and Mercedes. Sainz showed exactly why he was recruited as he finished best of the rest in the drivers’ standings behind the Mercedes and Red Bull pairs while the team celebrated double-points finishes in 17 out of 22 races.
