It didn't take long for fans to get excited after Formula 1 star Fernando Alonso announced he'd return to Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 2019 Indy 500 on Saturday.
“I’ve made clear for some time my desire to achieve the Triple Crown," said Alonso, the 37-year-old two-time F1 champion.
"I had an incredible experience at Indianapolis in 2017, and I knew in my heart of hearts I had to go back if the opportunity was there."
Alonso qualified fifth during his 2017 run and finished 24th after an engine failure.
Just imagine the excitement if he does capture the final leg of motorsports' Triple Crown.
