Oscar Piastri believes he can outperform teammate Lando Norris in his debut season in Formula 1, but conceded it will keep expectations in check ahead of his first campaign on the grid. The 21-year-old has replaced Daniel Ricciardo at McLaren after spending last season as the reserve driver for Alpine and will make his Formula 1 debut next month when the season gets underway in Bahrain. But Piastri said he relishes the opportunity of challenging the Briton in his first season in Formula 1. ‘I was there last year as a reserve driver and it was a pretty electric atmosphere. And Piastri acknowledged there were no set targets ahead of his debut campaign in Formula 1.
