F1 debutant Oscar Piastri has early SCARE with his McLaren coming off the track in Bahrain, but rising Aussie star gets through practice unscathed

Australian debutant Oscar Piastri has endured a challenging and eventful Formula One debut at the Bahrain Grand Prix, coming off the track but getting through the sessions with his McLaren intact. There are some improvements to find but I feel like I’m getting there,’ Piastri said following his debut. ‘Oscar’s doing exactly what we want him to do, which is just get some laps in and get familiar with the car. ‘So far, things are going well, the drivers are happy with the car, so hopefully we can get into Q3 (the third qualifying session on Saturday to find the top-10 drivers).’. McLaren team principal Andrea Stella was pleased to see both Piastri and teammate Lando Norris get through the practice sessions unscathed.
