F1 chiefs closing in on deal to take the sport back to Las Vegas – with a street circuit along the famous strip – following success of Netflix series and Lewis Hamilton vs Max Verstappen rivalry

Formula One chiefs are in the closing stages of a deal which would see the sport make a long-awaited return to Las Vegas. The Sun claim the proposed street circuit along the famous strip could see the race introduced as early as 2023. It would mean there would be a third race in the United States after Austin and Miami, which will be making its debut this year. F1 has previously hosted two races in Las Vegas in 1981 and 1982 at Caesars Palace but the small crowds didn’t justify a return. A back and forth campaign, laden with controversy reached its climax with the fierce rivals entering the final race on exactly the same points.
