EXCLUSIVE: Workaholic Zak Brown opens up on his mission to make McLaren a force to be reckoned with again… from living on planes to five hours sleep per night!

‘I’m pretty sure there are 25 hours in a day,’ says Zak Brown, chief executive of McLaren and a poster boy for the Do Not Work From Home movement. For 30 years I have been on the road 275 days out of 365. But Brown, the 51-year-old Los Angeles-born marketing executive who took over at McLaren towards the end of 2016, thrives off the adrenaline rush. Brown raced professionally for 10 years and established Just Marketing International (JMI), which became the biggest motorsport marketing agency in the world. He still races when he can, but his day job is to restore lustre to McLaren’s reputation.
