Ex-F1 team owner says Daniel Ricciardo has absolutely no chance of beating Sergio Perez out to be Red Bull’s No.2 driver – after Aussie was connected to shock mid-season team switch

Former Formula One team principal Eddie Jordan has ruled out Daniel Ricciardo replacing Sergio Perez as Red Bull’s No2 driver. While Jordan has not shut the door on Ricciardo securing a seat for next season, he’s adamant he won’t be replacing Perez at Red Bull. Perez finished third in the drivers’ championship standings last season behind world champion Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. While Perez’s seat may be out of reach, Ricciardo could return to the grid this season with AlphaTauri poised to sack their struggling rookie driver Nyck de Vries. AlphaTauri is owned by Red Bull, meaning the team could simply turn to Ricciardo  as a possible replacement for the 28-year-old Dutchman.
