Elfyn Evans is ready to face down the jump which ruled him out of three 2019 FIA World Rally Championship rounds when the series restarts at Rally Estonia (4 – 6 September). The subsequent back injury kept him out of WRC rounds in Finland, Germany and Turkey. The section will feature on the route for the WRC’s first post-lockdown round and Estonia’s maiden appearance in the series. Evans, who moved from M-Sport Ford to Toyota Gazoo Racing ahead of this season, tested his Yaris in Estonia earlier this month. “The car felt good in the pre-event test,” he said. The test was a pretty typical pre-event, it was about getting the car tuned to what we want in the conditions. Estonia will be our first fast gravel rally with the car, so there was a bit of time to understand the parameters of what the car will do.
