Davenport Pockets $21,000 Tazewell Prize

TAZEWELL, Tenn. – Jonathan Davenport started second, took the lead on the opening lap and never looked back en route to victory during Saturday’s Lil’ Bill Corum Memorial at Tazewell Speedway. The victory in the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series and Valvoline Iron-Man Racing Series co-sanctioned event was worth $21,000 to Davenport. Davenport took the checkered flag a half-track ahead of NASCAR Cup Series star Kyle Larson, who made a surprise appearance in the Rumley Enterprises No. Davenport lapped all but eight competitors on his way to the victory in the 75-lap feature. Tyler Erb finished a distant third, followed by Dale McDowell and Donald McIntosh.
