Spectacular sideways skids will earn drivers bonus points at future WRC rounds in an exciting new measure to reward showstopping competitors for turning on the style. In a throwback to rallying from yesteryear, when a ‘Scandinavian flick’ was a pre-requisite in every driver’s arsenal, the stars of the WRC will once more be encouraged to show panache in their driving to earn additional championship points. There will be a pre-defined turn, named Crazy Corner, in a special stage on each day of every rally, in which drivers will earn additional points based on how they attack the bend, the thrills they provide and how spectacularly they skid. They will be judged by an independent panel of three experts, with the top-three drivers earning three, two and one point respectively.
