Formula One bosses have cancelled the Canadian Grand Prix for a second successive season after failing to obtain a quarantine exemption for their travelling contingent on arrival in Montreal. ‘Our community will continue to travel with stringent safety measures that allowed us to reach 12 countries and deliver 17 races in 2020,’ said F1 in a statement ahead of this weekend’s Portuguese Grand Prix. ‘The measures have proven to be highly effective with over 78,000 Covid tests conducted last season with only 78 positive results, a rate of 0.1 per cent. So far this season we have conducted over 12,000 tests with 14 positive cases, again a rate of 0.1pc.
