Chase Briscoe will undergo surgery to repair his broken middle finger on his left hand on Monday morning, following the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series race at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. Briscoe broke his finger while competing in a dirt late model race — the Kyle Larson Late Model Challenge at Volunteer Speedway — on Thursday night. Despite reporting that his hand was “black and blue,” the full-time Cup Series driver went on to line up for the Food City Dirt Race at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway on Sunday. Briscoe’s best finish of the year was his recent fifth-place result at Bristol.
