Billy Childs Jr. Steps Up To Super Late Models

LEEDS, Maine — Billy Childs Jr. is gearing up for a part-time super late model effort at Oxford Plains Speedway this year, with a goal of qualifying for the Oxford 250 in late August. “My Dad has been pretty serious about trying to run a super late model, and seeing me make the 250 again,” Childs said. Childs has participated in three Oxford 250s during his career; in 2007, the first time it was a late model race (started 39th, finished 22nd); in 2009 (started 17th, finished 40th); and in 2010 (started 25th, finished 38th). I decided it was time to try the super late model, but I may dabble in it some late in the year.”.
