Volland Racing’s Yuri Belevskiy, the Russian who races on a Swiss licence, was the star performer in the opening two rounds of the FIA European Rallycross Championship for Super1600 at the Logitech G FIA World RX of Pirineus-Barcelona 2030 and Logitech G FIA World RX of Catalunya over the weekend. Hungary’s Gergely Marton, the 2019 vice-champion in the category, took the first TQ (top qualifier) place of the year, and won semi-final one to secure pole position for the round one final. Belevskiy also won his semi-final, and made an overtake for the lead of the final on lap one. Russia’s Marak Kniazev won semi-final two and held off Ribeiro on lap one. Bermingrud also missed out on a double-final start for the Catalunya weekend following a close-fought end to semi-final one. He took P4 in semi-final one in round one, but was a DNF in semi-final one in round two with broken suspension following contact.
