PLEASANT, Mich. – Mark Beard Sr., the owner of the No. 62 Beard Motorsports Chevrolet that competes part-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, died Sunday at the age of 72. Despite the passing of the team’s owner, the team will move forward with plans to compete in the season-opening Daytona 500 on Feb. 14 with NASCAR Xfinity Series regular Noah Gragson, who is attempting to make his Cup Series debut. Beard Motorsports has competed in 17 NASCAR Cup Series events since 2017, with Brendan Gaughan delivering four top-10 finishes for the team during that time period.
