Aston Martin will give Lance Stroll ‘every chance’ to race at the Bahrain Grand Prix as he recovers from bicycle crash while training in Spain… with Felipe Drugovich lined up as back-up, ruling out Sebastian Vettel coming out of retirement despite talks

Aston Martin will give Lance Stroll ‘every chance’ to race at the Bahrain Grand Prix next week with Felipe Drugovich lined up as his back-up. F2 champion Drugovich stood in for Stroll, son of team owner Lawrence, on the final day of pre-season testing at Bahrain’s Sakhir circuit on Saturday. On Sunday, the Silverstone-based manufacturer said: ‘The team will continue to give Lance every chance to race, pending recovery from his injury. In the 2022 championship, Stroll finished 15th in the standings, with top-ten finishes in eight races and two retirements for 18 points. Stroll also finished behind his now-teammate Fernando Alonso, who only failed to score points in eight races and ended the season ninth in the standings.
