They took their time but Alfa Romeu’s 2022 livery was worth the wait, with the Swiss-based team revealing a stunning design ahead of the Bahrain season opener. The 2022 livery is retro-inspired, with a more crimson-heavy style compared to the predominant white of last season – as the team celebrates 30 years in F1. Alfa have employed an all-new driver line-up for this season, with Guanyu Zhou promoted from Formula 2 to become the first Chinese man on the grid, joined by Lewis Hamilton’s old Mercedes team-mate and 10-time race winner, Valterri Bottas. ‘It’s my first car at Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN, of course, which makes it special, and I am really looking forward to being on the grid in Bahrain with it. The Chinese driver, 10 years Bottas’ junior, finished third in last season’s F2 championship.
