Moto3™ World Champion added yet another trophy to his ever-growing cabinet on Tuesday evening when he was named Murcia’s top sportsman of 2021 alongside tennis star Carlos Alcaraz. Fresh from his disappointment in Le Mans when a first Moto2™ victory slipped through his fingers, there was a smile back on the face of El Tiburón de Mazarrón when being handed the prestigious award with tennis’ world number six. Acosta wasn’t the only Grand Prix star picking up an award on Tuesday evening, with Moto2™ sensation Fermin Aldeguer also receiving praise for his recent performances. 2021’s European Moto2™ Champion and now the youngest rider to ever take pole position in the intermediate class, Aldeguer’s stellar twelve months were rightly recognised as well.
