109-year-old SCAT Targa Florio racer at FOS
This unassuming pre-war behemoth has quite the history. SCAT has deep ties to the early automotive industry in Turin, Italy, as it was founded by one of the Ceirano brothers who were responsible for the first F.I.A.T. 4hps in 1899! Giovanni Battista Ceirano went on to create SCAT in 1906, finding success in early motorsports, in particular the Targa Florio, where they achieved wins in 1911, 1912 and 1914! Here at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard we witness one of these Targa cars in action! #FOS #FIAT
